Summer Consultants Promotes Three Firm Leaders

Summer Consultants, Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of three Company leaders to the position of Vice President, effective immediately.

• Kyle Daihl, PE, CxA, BEAP
• James Gawthrop, PE, LEED AP BD+C
• Kyle Urda, PE, RCDD

All three also sit on the firm’s Board of Directors.

“As the firm has grow and taken on new challenges, Kyle, Jim and Kyle have continued to demonstrate their strong leadership capabilities, responding to these challenges, providing mentoring and working with other leaders to guide the company into the future,” states Jim Hoffman, PE, LEED AP O+M, CEM, FACEC, President of Summer Consultants. “We are happy to recognize their commitment and dedication.”

Kyle Daihl has served as a senior mechanical engineer, project manager, and commissioning authority for 15 years with Summer Consultants. He has completed projects for clients including the U.S. Air Force, General Services Administration, and the State of Delaware. He currently oversees Summer Consultants’ Philadelphia regional office.

James Gawthrop has been with Summer Consultants for over 15 years, leading teams as project manager, senior mechanical engineer, and sustainable design expert. His work includes projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Navy, and the General Services Administration, with a focus on the renovation of historic facilities. He also manages several of the firm’s technical services including building information and energy modeling.

With Summer Consultants since 2009, Kyle Urda serves as a senior electrical and fire protection engineer, project manager and registered communications distribution designer. He has worked with clients, including the U.S. Navy, Virginia Community College System, and local municipal governments in the Metropolitan Washington area, on a variety of projects. He also oversees the firm’s IT team.

The promotions are part of a reorganization of Summer Consultants’ corporate officers. C. Peter Collat stepped down from his role as Vice President, and will continue to provide technical expertise and leadership as Principal and Senior Mechanical, Electrical and Fire Protection Engineer.

“We acknowledge and thank Pete for his continued contributions to the firm as Vice President and continuing on as Principal,” said Hoffman. “His expertise, knowledge, and leadership are valued by all members of our staff.”
