Lee Benzel, PE, LEED AP BD+C

Lee joined Summer Consultants as a mechanical engineer fresh out of college and has been with the firm for over five years. He focuses on integrative building design through collaboration of multiple design trades and works to approach every problem, not only from a mechanical perspective, but from all trades of design: construction, electrical, architectural, and structural. He entered the building engineering industry because of his interest in the large coordination effort that is required for construction. Moving forward in his career, he aims to develop his skill set in all mechanical design and wants to specialize in energy efficiency and energy management.

What motivates you professionally?

I am motivated professionally by my goal to be a source of knowledge and leadership for overall building design. This is very important in the building engineering industry. I want to specialize in mechanical engineering design, while still maintaining a holistic building design mindset.
