Aldo Heredia-Espinoza

Aldo joined Summer Consultants as a mechanical designer upon graduation from college. His focus in mechanical engineering was fueled by his interest in science and mathematics as well as involvement in STEM clubs and competitions. His favorite part of engineering is finding the best solution to solve each building and system challenge, and he is excited to develop a well-rounded engineering background and the opportunities to specialize in many fields.

What is an interesting project you have worked on?

At Virginia Tech, I was part of a research lab that worked with soft robotics. During that time, we created an octopus-inspired suction device that can work in both wet and dry conditions and can deform to adhere to different curvatures and surface roughness.
