Gelman Library is the main library for The George Washington University. The seven story, 210,000 SF building was constructed in the 1970s. In 2010, the university launched plans for a major renovation to transform the facility’s outdated and inefficient library model of book stacks and individual study carrels into an open, flexible, and collaborative model to support electronic research and learning.
Summer Consultants was part of the cox graae + spack architects team to develop a concept for the first floor renovation. The detailed concept enabled a cost estimate to be developed.
