Summer Consultants Announces Staff Retirements
Following an accomplished, nearly 40-year career, James Stewart, PE, LC, CLEP, has officially retired from Summer Consultants, Inc. James, or Jimmy, as he is known, was with Summer Consultants for 36 years.
Jimmy began as an electrical designer with Summer Consultants and worked his way up to Senior Electrical Engineer and Principal of the firm. His passion for electrical engineering design and his dedication to his clients was evident on every project he worked on. He served as a mentor to engineers entering the workforce and was always willing to teach others about the intricacies of electrical engineering design.
“Jimmy is an exemplary engineering professional and has helped the company grow and succeed over the years through his work and client service, “said James Hoffman, President of Summer Consultants. “We are going to miss his wit and dedication to his craft.”
Jimmy’s work included electrical engineering projects with clients including the U.S. Navy, General Services Administration, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology, to name a few.
This retirement follows the recent retirement of another Summer Consultants principal Jason Davis, who retired from the firm in 2023, following a 40+ year engineering career.
Jason joined Summer Consultants in 1996 and was with the firm for more than 25 years, as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and Principal. He specialized in the design of complex mechanical building systems, later focusing on overseeing and improving the company’s quality control review program.
“Jason led by example with his commitment to providing high quality designs and effective project management for clients,” stated Mr. Hoffman. “His knowledge and insight were always valued.”
Jason’s project experience included work for the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, The George Washington University and Northern Virginia Community College.
