My Experience as a Summer Intern: Learning and Growth

This summer, I drove all the way from Florida to the DMV to intern at Summer Consultants. I am grateful for the opportunity I had this summer to work alongside the engineers at Summer and receive valuable work experience and guidance from them. I was able to assist on multiple projects and go into the field to see the jobs that we work on in person. Before this summer, I had no experience in Revit, AGI32 or SKM, but with the help of the electrical team I was able to quickly pick up enough to help on projects.

Not only did Summer Consultants teach me about my future career field, but they also taught me about teamwork and collaboration. The office in McLean, VA, has people from all over the country, and by talking to them, I was able to discover more about how useful it is to have a group of diverse problem solvers. Throughout this internship I have gained experience that will become invaluable in my future as an engineer.
