The new three-story facility will provide needed space for the organization’s North Carolina State University chapter. Features include 20 double-occupancy bedrooms, a house mother suite, a commercial kitchen, a dining room which can accommodate all 170 sisters, meeting spaces, and storage.
Mechanical systems include direct expansion heat pumps as well as a exhaust and make-up air system for the kitchen. Plumbing design included gas hot water heaters, expansion tanks, and piping for domestic water, vent, and sanitary systems.
Electrical design included a new 120/277V electrical distribution system. LED lighting with lighting controls was provided throughout the house. Telecommunication design included wireless access points, data and coaxial outlets. The new addressable fire alarm system was connected to the campus monitoring system. Security included the infrastructure design for security cameras, glass break sensors and access control.
All systems were designed to meet North Carolina State University requirements and City of Raleigh standards.
