A concept study was prepared to diagnose the problems with the malfunctioning HVAC system in this 44,000 SF building. The building houses a data center and offices. The existing air handling units were found to be undersized and under-ventilated. The HVAC renovation design repaired equipment problems, as well as the distribution system.

The renovation provided the data center with hot aisle containment for the low-density racks, and passive rear door coolers for the high-density racks. An additional Dedicated Outside Air System (DOAS) was added to handle the high occupancy spaces and provide pre-treated outside air to the data center, conference spaces, and air handling units.

Lighting throughout the building was upgraded to LED volumetric fixtures with a DALI control system, providing daylighting and occupancy sensor control.
